I have to say in the past I have been burned by marketing agencies and I was very skeptical in hiring another one but I knew I had to finally do something to stay in business. I found Black Storm because a friend highly recommended them so I decided to see what they could offer and to find out if they were just another scam. After working with them for 9 months I will say they have been very kind and professional in our dealings and they have actually exceeded my expectations on lead generation. I haven't experienced anything bad with them so if you're looking for a trustworthy marketing agency then I would suggest to give them a try.

3 Ways To Get Found On The First Page of Google for Roofing

Want your business to be seen on Google? Of course, you do, every company does. But, there are some things that work, and others that won’t work, as it relates to you being seen online. What approach should you take when trying to become a leader on Google and outperform your competitors in Google searches? Well, these are three surefire ways to get found on the first page results of Google, regardless of the size of Roofing company.

1. Pay for Google Search Ads

How to Use Ads to Get to the Top of Google

Yes, getting your page to show up on the first page results of Google organically is free. But, this takes time. And, more often than not, when you want to outrank the competitors in your area, this is not something you have. Therefore, you can purchase ads which Google will place atop the organic search results that show up on the search engine almost instantly. Read on to learn about how they work and how you can use them for your business.

Using a paid search campaign is a great approach you can take as a Roofing business, which works for hand in hand with the organic work you’re doing so that your page ranks on the first page results of Google. Paid searches show up on top of the organic results. Google cycles these throughout the day, meaning each time someone searches for an industry-specific/Roofing search, they’re likely to see one of the ads you purchased.
Over time, if this pairs up with the organic results from the SEO work you’re doing on your website, it’s going to look great for people who are shopping and looking for the top businesses in Roofing.

What are Google Ads?

Basically, a Google ad is a program you buy into as a business, and you’re paying for pages from your site, to rank atop the organic search results, on the first page results, of a Google search. Algorithms are used by Google to determine where you’re going to rank in ad placement. This is done based upon the keywords you’re paying for, and bidding on, to contest other Roofing companies.
Then, Google compares ads based on relevancy, budget, quality, visitor usefulness, and other factors, to determine where the paid-for ads are going to show up on Google. The reason you’re paying for these ads is that you’re only paying when someone clicks on them. So, even if your paid ad isn’t the first in the first page results, it is still going to be seen regularly by searchers.

How to Succeed with Google Ads

Alright, you are paying for ads each time a visitor clicks on one. But, how do you do well with ad placement to ensure Google places your ads above your competitors paid for ads? There’s plenty you can do to be seen on the first page results, and be one of the top ads on that first page. Some ways to improve your rank and placement are
  • Tracking
  • Adding links
  • A/B testing
  • Keeping track of metrics
  • Negative word use
  • Landing page optimization
Of course, this isn’t an inclusive list of ways that your page is going to increase in ad rank. However, the more of these factors you take into account when creating your ads, and choosing which keywords to bid on, the higher you’re going to see your ads rank atop the search engines and first page results on Google.
Can I just run a Google campaign myself? It is possible, it doesn’t mean it is going to work well. Hiring an expert to do it for you is the best approach. Not only do professionals know what search engines are crawling for, but they also know what the algorithms are looking for. A professional ad company will help ensure your rank increases, your ads are seen, and that your paid for ads are going to work well with the organic work you’re doing on your site, to ensure you’re on the first page results for all Google keywords you are targeting as a Roofing business.

2. Get Listed in Google My Business

Your company’s not listed as a business? This is hurting your rank immensely. So, how do you go about getting your company listed as a business?

How to Get Your Roofing Business Listings on the First Page

You want your website to show up on the first page results. However, your business listing on Google can also turn up on the first page results. That is, if you are listed as a Google business.
If you’re not, the first thing you’ll want to do is create a Google My Business Page. (How To Get Your Roofing Business On Google Maps)
Google My Business isn’t only a powerful tool for companies, it is a free tool you should be using in your Roofing industry. Google searches and maps pull up results from business listings, and your rank is going to be affected if you’re not listed as a business. Once you list your Roofing company as a Google Business, you’re also going to have to verify the account. This allows you to monitor progress, keep track of changes, and see how you’re ranking on the first page results as a business listing.

Optimizing Your Business Listing –

Optimization is critical to ensure your business listing is seen. Anyone can create a Google My Business, but if you don’t optimize it, what good is it going to do for your ranking? Not much.

Make sure you complete every step of the profile setup.

Businesses with more information get seven times as many clicks as those without the information searchers are looking for.

Consistency is key.

If you use Co. in one place, stick with Co. in others. Don’t go back and forth from Comp. to Co. to Company. It confuses Google, it confuses your searchers, and it is going to lead to lower ranking on Google as a business listing.

Update information regularly.

Make sure your address, phone number, and relevant business information is correct. Do so regularly and make sure you keep information up to date. People can’t find you if your Google Business listing says you’re closed. The more relevant and accurate your information is, the higher you’re going to rank on the first page results of a Google Business listing.

Reviews are a must.

Ask customers to write reviews, use Yelp, BBB, and other rating sites. The more positive information there is about your Roofing company in the industry, the more relevant you’re going to be for searchers. Google is going to promote your business listing business of this, and it’ll rank higher in the first page results.

Add photos.

Including photos of your listing, the storefront, employees, and other relevant information, will put a face to the name. If people can see and know what your business looks like, they are more likely to want to visit and do business with you. This is also going to lead to Google including your business listing higher up in the first page results than they would a competitor’s business that doesn’t include images in their listing.

Utilize other directories.

Yes, Google is still leader in search engines. But, there are other business directories you can add your business to. The more places your Roofing audience can find you, the more credence it gives to your business. People are more likely to trust your company if they can easily find it through multiple platforms, so you’re going to see your business listing jump up on the first page results when you have it listed on multiple directories, as opposed to being listed only in one place.
Just like you’re going to do with your Google listing, make sure the information on other directories is accurate as well. And, make sure it is consistent on Google and all other directories that you are listed on. People want to know who they are dealing with and want to know what your Roofing business does. When you can provide more information about your company, where it is located, and why your customer should want to shop with you, you’re going to realize an increase in rank in the search engines. And, you’re also going to see more visibility on other databases and listing directories as well, which will help increase revenues and customer base.

3. Optimize Your Website: Ranking Organically

How to Use Your Website to Get on the First Page of Google

SEO is imperative for your website to be found by the searcher. Therefore, you’re going to want to use search engine optimization tools, to help your website get atop the first page results on Google organically, not only through paid searches.

Determine Your Keywords

When you are in a specific area, you’ll want to know exactly what people are searching for. Not only for specific words, but also for phrases that your searcher is entering when they’re looking for a company in your area in Google. Some examples are
  • “Roofer near me”
  • “Best local Roofing service”
  • “YOUR CITY + Roofing”
  • “Roofing in YOUR CITY”
There’s no limit to what you can choose as your keywords or phrases. But, you’re going to want to make sure it is specific to your niche and your searcher. Targeting the right keywords will do wonders for your organic ranking, and will help get your website on the first page results for numerous keywords and phrases as well.

Let Google Know What Your Keywords Are

If Google doesn’t know why you want to rank, how is it going to improve your rank organically? The answer is, it won’t. Crawling is the manner in which Google and other search engines go about determining organic rank.
Some ways to inform Google what your keywords are include
  • Titles: You have to include them for each page on your website, blogs, and other content you add
  • Meta Description: This is the short blurb that appears below results in Google, the description should describe your company within Roofing to your audience/searcher
  • URL: This is what people see when they click on your site. Keep it short, concise, and easy to remember
  • Alt tags: These are descriptions of images, and should include keywords and phrases that describe what visitors are seeing on your site.
The more you optimize your page, the easier it is for Google to crawl through it. In turn, it is going to end up ranking higher on the first page results, and over time, it is going to jump the ranks in organic searches.

You’re Writing for Humans

Don’t write for search engines. What does this mean? You want to write for a human reader. Remember, people are looking for your Roofing company, not Google. You want content to be fresh and engaging. Make sure it adds value, teaches, or gives your reader something they can use.
Don’t inundate content with keywords and phrases, trying to make it rank on the first page results. Google can see through this and will penalize you. Add value and deliver something of value to your reader.

Mobile Site Optimization

Remember that people today are searching on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices. Make sure your site loads quickly on mobile devices, is easy to navigate, and searchers can find what they’re looking for. The more optimized it is, for multiple mobile devices, the better.

Make a Great Experience

People want a seamless experience. A friendly interface, great content, useful content, and a site that looks great. Make your site mobile-friendly, easy on the eyes, and one which visitors want to come back to. The greater their experience, the higher up you’ll end up ranking organically on the first page results.

To Conclude

Increasing site rank on Google is doable. It will, however, take work and time. If you don’t have much time, paid ads are a great start. And, if you don’t have experience in algorithms, design, and creating a user-friendly site, work with a professional company to help.
The more time you put into building a great site, the higher it’ll rank, and the better it’ll end up doing for the right keywords within your Roofingbusiness.

How Do Top First Page Google Rankings Benefit Your Roofing Business?

You know about Google and it’s reach, so having your Roofing business show up in the first page results is important, right? Of course, it is! There’s not much more you need to say when it comes to Google and trustworthiness, so let’s delve into how powerful that first-page ranking might really be.

1. Visibility Will Increase

Google sees 167 billion searches per month, that obviously means more traction. Think of it in the way you think of a brick and mortar shop. In a major city, are you going to build off the beaten path where people can’t find you, or on the main road running through major intersections? The answer is obvious.

With more visits and more eyes seeing your Roofing business on the first page of Google, brand awareness increases. Even if searchers have never heard of your Roofing business, they’re going to see it regularly if it ranks on the first page. Over time, they’ll eventually visit, and this is going to increase the number of clicks your Roofing site sees as time passes.

2. More Leads

When you are choosing how to set up your Google business, you obviously want to choose keywords that are going to rank well for your specific Roofing business. Think about it. If you sell food supplies, you’re not going to use keywords that are geared towards construction companies, are you? You want your queries to fall in line with what your ideal searcher/customer is looking for. This will help increase the number of leads your Roofing business sees, and ultimately, will increase the visits to your Roofing site.

3. Engagement will Increase

Adweek conducted a survey which indicates 81% of shoppers search Google before they choose where to buy. There’s also Google answer box, allowing people to ask questions and further target where/how/why, for their searches. When people have the ability to compare your site on Google’s first-page result, this automatically increases visibility and engagement. And, when customers are comparing your Roofing site to others on Google, you’re instantly going to have more people talking about your Roofing business.

4. Traffic will Increase

In most instances, several engagements between a customer and a Roofing website are necessary to convert that searcher into a Roofing customer. With Google queries, answer box and local search, you’re going to naturally realize an increase in website traffic, as people who are searching for the services you offer, will naturally see you ranking well on Google.

The first 5 listings of Google captures over 70% of all web searches; imagine 70% of the consumer population visiting Google seeing your Roofing company on the first page. They’re going to notice it. Engagement and click-through rate drops drastically to 6% on the second page. Noticing the trend? You want to rank highly on Google, and you want to be atop the first page results to increase overall traffic to your Roofing website.

5. Authority Figure

When you’re on the first page of Google, you’re considered an expert in Roofing. You are considered an authority figure in that industry, therefore, searchers are going to trust your Roofing business. The time it takes for your Roofing business to climb the ranks is well worth the payoff you’ll realize over time.

You’ll also want to do more than just hope for your page to land on the first page results of Google. Write content, blogs, and engage with customers in Roofing. It’ll help increase your knowledge base, and showcase your true authority in Roofing.

6. Customers will trust you

Algorithms Google utilizes helps weed out spam from reliable, reputable Roofing companies. If you’re constantly on Google’s first page, for the keywords/searches you’re targeting, you’re going to be considered a reliable Roofing company by Google. In turn, searchers will consider your Roofing business reliable as well.

7. Your Audience will Grow

Ever-green content, blogs, SEO, and naturally developing a Roofing site customers want to visit, will help your site rank on Google’s first page. This is naturally going to lead to an increase in your audience since more people are visiting your Roofing site daily, weekly, and monthly.

Content creation, and utilizing organic measures to help your site increase rank will pay off over time. It’ll take some time and effort, but ranking on the first page of Google is a surefire way for your Roofing business to grow in any location.

How to Delete Fake Google Reviews For Your Roofing Company

For business owners, having a google page is a must. Unfortunately, often, Google pages become placeholders for fake Google reviews written with the sole intention of harming a brand or promoting negative, derogatory, and racist views. Thus, business owners must make all efforts to get fake reviews immediately deleted. Google has a supremely efficient team in place to assist businesses in dealing with the anarchy of fake reviews. Google recognizes eight types of negative reviews and will delete them immediately when contacted. (if you don’t have a GMB account or Apple Maps, click here)

Should Fake Google Reviews Worry You?

Unfortunately, yes. The emergence of smartphones has changed the way consumers make buying decisions. Before making a purchase, consumers invariably scour the internet for reviews and product descriptions. Negative reviews, even if fake, can drastically impact sales. Google is the most used and trusted search engine, and thus, a significant section of buyers involuntarily turn to Google business reviews for help.

Fake google reviews should worry you because a 2017-study revealed that only four negative reviews are enough to stop 70% of prospective customers from buying a product. With 2 billion users, Google is more influential than anything else on the internet currently.

Is It Possible to Delete Fake Google Reviews?

Businesses cannot get rid of fake reviews on their own. The only way to get fake Google reviews deleted is to reach out to the Google Business Plan team. Google judges all reviews for authenticity and intent and decides to remove them based on three criteria:

1. Is the review fake, spam or a competitor’s ad
2. Is the review irrelevant to the business
3. Is the review violent in nature

Given the number of businesses and reviews on Google, it is not always easy to get fake reviews deleted. However, it is also not impossible to get the attention of the Google Business Plan team. In general, in comparison to violent and irrelevant reviews, it is easier to get spam or fake reviews deleted.

How to Get Fake Reviews Deleted?

Report Policy Violation

Here’s an important tip: do not discard all negative reviews as fake reviews. Instead, look into the issue and if it’s a genuine concern, try to solve it. However, if you have cross-verified everything and are confident that the review you are dealing with is fake, report policy violation. Business owners can flag all reviews they find fraudulent, inappropriate, or illegitimate. All one has to do to flag a review is to click on the flag icon on the review. Once a review has been flagged, business owners must provide their email ID and select the type of violation they are reporting. As soon as the ‘submit’ button is clicked on, the Google team will get a notification.

Gather Proof and Reach out to Google

Before you reach out to Google with your request to delete specific reviews, make sure you have substantial proof to verify your claims. You can use your CRM data or sales records to corroborate fake reviews.

Google has a specialized team called Google My Business Team that deals with issues related to reviews. To get in touch with Google My Business Team, go to the reviews section and select the channel on which you want Google to reach out to you. We suggest giving your phone number as phones facilitate direct communication, leaving no space for any confusion. The Google team will reach back to you once they have verified everything at their end.

What If Google Decides Against Deleting the Reported Reviews?

The ultimate authority to decide whether a review is fake or not lies with Google. If Google chooses against deleting a fake or negative review, don’t feel disappointed. You may not have been able to get a review deleted, but you can undermine its effect by layering it with positive and honest reviews. Reach out to your old and loyal customers and request them to leave a positive review. This exercise will surely help you rebuild your brand.

However, remember never to agree to fake positive reviews as they are illegal and can even attract the wrath of Google and the government. Similarly, do not get favorable reviews through dishonest ways, such as offering discounts for positive reviews. These tactics may work temporarily but will surely leave a negative impact on your brand image in the long run.

The Final Word

Since negative reviews garner negative attention and hamper sales, they must be dealt with urgency. It is possible to get those fake reviews deleted that fall within the bracket of violation set by Google. However, the decision to remove any review lies solely with Google. Thus, if you are reaching out to Google, combine your formal complaint with concrete proof to urge Google to take action. It is undoubtedly true that getting fake reviews deleted is tough, but it is not impossible.

How To Get Your Roofing Business On The Maps (Apple & Google)

Phonebooks to Smartphones

Two decades ago, consumers used to find their local businesses using a local phonebook. They would look for a specific business category then filter through listing and ads to grab the reader’s attention. Today, a client does not require a local phonebook, but a Smartphone can accomplish all those tasks within a minute. The good thing with these Smartphones is that they are relatively small and can comfortably fit in your pocket.

Now, when you are hungry or tired, and you have visited a new town, then a Smartphone will help you gather as much information as possible about local businesses. If you have an iPhone contact, your friend Siri or when using an Android contact your buddy Google Assistant to find a restaurant near you. Within a few seconds, you will obtain a list on your phone showing the Name, address, ratings, reviews phone number, opening and closing hours, website, and more details of nearby restaurants.

That’s how many people are conducting their searches nowadays, and it is not restricted to restaurants alone. People are also doing it for Roofing sites as well as roofers, contractors, chiropractors, stores, and much more. Typing your requirement, mainly when you are hungry and tired takes some action. Speaking out your clear instructions to your Smartphone is simple.

Desktop Computer Search

As of April 2019, Google had occupied more than 88% of the search engine market while the rest shared only 12%. (Source) So it’s prudent to say that if you are investing in listing your business then make sure that Google features on top of your list.

Google Desktop Search

Many people don’t even select the search engine they intend to use. They “Google it.” Google is the leading search engine in the U.S and for good reasons. They have invested heavily to develop a search engine that gives the best results, faster. As of today, Google is the largest search engine, as well as the most famous one. It is also one of the top five most famous sites in the world. Google produces results for over 5.4 Billion searches every day.

Small or Medium-sized business plays a vital role in growing the US economy, and Google took note of that information. They synchronized search capabilities with Geo-location and proximity aiming to develop customized local search results for users.

Local search leveled a playing field for all businesses, as users could now find their services or products based on how far they were from them. Google offered clients with the best results that were based on both geo-proximity and search intent of the location where the search was conducted. These customized results have made Google be a go-to medium for all your local search needs.

Upon attaining this milestone, Google developed it further by combining Google Map platform with local search results. This helped users to explore local businesses using their Smartphone. With this, Google was able to assist users in navigating their way to any destination.

How to Add Your Roofing Business on Google Maps

While there are various ways to improve and monitor GMB performance, to begin, you need to set up a simple profile that people will use to find your business. Google My Business (GMB) is a crucial aspect of local SEO that should not be neglected.

However, you need to keep your listing data up to date and accurate. Research statistics show that 50% of customers visit a business or an online store after conducting a local search, like restaurants near me and that 80% of clients lose trust in your local business if they note any incorrect or inconsistent details about your business online. Therefore, you need to make sure that your Name, Address or Phone number are consistent and accurate in all your listings, Including GMB.

Why Apple Maps Matter for Your Business

If you operate a small business, make sure that you are taking advantage of local opportunities when customers request Siri for information about the services you provide, ensure that your business is added to Apple maps.

Apple maps have more than 42 million users worldwide. Voice search (using assistants like Siri) accounts for more than one billion searches every month, most of these are for local requests. This implies ensuring details about your business are found in Apple Maps may help potential clients locate your business. It also means that if your business is not listed on such maps, but your competitor is, then they will obtain that client.

Apple’s Maps Connect allows small business to edit and submit their map listings without contacting apple. The process f adding your business to Apple maps is similar to that of Google Maps only that here you are using an iPhone instead of an Android phone.

Smartphone Search (iPhone vs Droid)

In 2018, more than half of site visits came from mobile phones.

Everyone has his/her reservations on whether to choose either an iPhone or an Android phone. Where do you think your business is getting all the businesses lists that show up in the search results? Of course, many people use Google to perform their local search. There are two leading search navigation apps, namely Apple maps and Google Maps.

iPhone Navigation History

For close to seven years, Google maps were used on all Apple products- until 2012 when apple launched competing software.

Immediately after Google maps were removed as default installation on Apple products, they were availed as a free download on the App store. Over time, Google maps became the most popular app in the Appstore platform. While the two apps are the same in terms of cost and function, they have notable differences that might affect the mapping service you select.

Apple Maps are popular navigation apps used by many people across the world. The number of users is growing almost every day. The app is gaining some traction as an effective alternative to Google maps.

Apple Maps collects its data from somewhere else.

Do you know where Siri obtains the information it gives you? Very easy, Siri can access both Yelp and Apple maps. You can develop a simple business listing on Apple maps which later pulls details from Yelp such as pictures and reviews. (How to Create an Apple Maps Listing)

Yelp is a popular online platform that helps users to discover local businesses that range from restaurants, bars, gas stations, and plumbers. It encourages users to leave reviews, give star ratings, and share pictures that portray the kind of experience they had upon visiting your local business. Every Yelp account has a list of friends that can be populated by integrating to your Facebook account. Reviews posted by Yelp users can be reviewed again by other platform users, and you can ultimately be awarded a Yelp Elite Status if you review stands out from the rest. (How To Add Your Roofing Business To Yelp)

Droid phones

Droid phones naturally use Google Maps as their original navigation app.

67% of Smartphone Users Prefer Google Maps, Will They Find Your Business There?

A recent survey has shown that Google maps are the market giants in regards to navigation apps. The report further indicates that Google maps are 6times famous than all the other navigation apps available in the market. The survey was conducted to show how mobile navigation apps are essential in attracting clients. As a small business, listing your enterprise on Google maps or any other navigation apps will help customers to find you easily when performing a local search online. If you want to succeed in online business, then make sure that your company features on both Roofing Google maps and Apple maps.

Your Customers Are Searching Locally, Who Will they find?

More than half of Google users are looking for Local Search Results. This means that there are people who are prepared to pay for your products or services as long as you will be found online through local search. If those clients find your competitor instead of your business, then that means you have lost a potential sale, and this gradually leads to your business decline over time. So you must improve your search results as much as possible.

If your Roofing business is already listed, you’ll click on the information, and you’ll select “Claim this business.” If you’re not listed, you’ll select “Add a New Place,” and you’ll input your Roofing business information to create the listing in Apple iPhone Maps.

Step 3. Adding the Business

When you’re on the add business page you’ll input the name and for place status, you’ll choose “this place is open.” For category, you’ll choose one most closely associated with your line of business; you’ll also have the option to add new categories when you’re adding your Roofing business.

Step 4. Claim the Business

Once you’ve added the business on Apple iPhone Maps, you’ll need to claim it as yours. If the business already exists and you try to claim it, you’ll receive a phone call to verify that you’re actually who you say you are. You’ll be required to answer through the business phone line (or the one you added when creating your new listing), in order to verify your identity as the business owner. You’ll receive an automated call and a four-digit PIN you’ll be required to enter in order to claim the business.

Step 5. Entering Location Information

Upon verifying your Roofing business on Apple iPhone Maps, you’ll now add its location. You’ll input the full street address that you want to list the business under, and an optional suite number (if one exists for your business). You’ll also be asked for the city, state, and zip when completing this step in the process.

There’s a pin on the screen which you’ll move to hover over your building/business. This verifies that the address you entered, is the correct address for your Roofing business you’re entering into Apple iPhone Maps.

Step 6. Setting up a Map Marker

Here you’ll be prompted with a drop-down menu to choose the map-marker and you’ll place it directly above your business address. You have to make sure the marker points directly at the building; this will be what customers see when the storefront of your Roofing business appears on iPhone Maps.

Step 7. Verify and Add Business Hours

After completion of map-marker verification, you’ll now confirm your Roofing business’s hours. You can later change this information if you ever change the hours your business opens or closes. Entering regular operating hours is recommended because this is what customers will see when they’re searching Apple iPhone Maps on their iPhone.

Step 8. Adding Your Website/Social Links

Make it easy for them by providing all the information in one place. LinkedIn, Facebook, Yelp, and other social media accounts can be linked during this step.

Step 9. Verify You’re Showing Up on Apple iPhone Maps

Why is the First Page of Google so Important for Roofers?

Google trumps all search engines, it crawls the web to determine which sites offer the greatest value to searchers, based upon specific keywords. We utilize Google daily, and we rely on the results they deliver to help us find items we purchase, to find businesses, and other relevant content online. Since there’s so much power in the search, as a Roofing business, you want your Roofing site to rank on the first page of Google, if you want to ensure searchers will reach it.

Why Being at the Top Matters

Local results, panels, answer boxes, and so many other tools are available through Google today, that it’s one of the most robust tools a searcher has to utilize today. You have many ways you can stand out as a Roofing business on the platform, so you obviously want to rank at the top. See our article about getting to first of Google.

The Higher the Rank, the Higher the Clickthrough Rate

A majority of the traffic to websites comes from Google; and, it’s a well-known fact that searchers are usually going to click on the top results (usually the first page results) on Google. A study conducted by SmartInsights highlights this point with the following findings

– There’s a 36.4% clickthrough rate for the first result
– 12.5% for the second result
– 9.5% for the third result

This trend continues to decline, and the tenth result on the first page only has a 2.2% clickthrough rate. Understanding why it’s so important to rank at the top of Google, for the specific keywords you’re targeting as a Roofing business? With local results, ad boxes, and other results at the top of the page, there are even fewer than ten slots that are going to gain a majority of the traffic on Google today.

Roofing Companies that aren’t at the top of that list, are missing out on numerous clicks. And, this means you’re missing out on potential new Roofing clients as a result. Obviously, this isn’t what you want to happen when you’re building your website and hoping to grow your Roofing business.

Top Position Traffic Share

Chitika conducted another study on Google search results; in this study, they found that Google captures 33% of all search traffic. This means one-third of people who are searching for a product, service, or business, are reaching that page from Google. They aren’t typing in the website directly into their browser.

Therefore, the higher up you rank on Google, the easier it is going to be for you to receive those clicks, and up to 33% of your traffic, from Google. The higher your search presence, the greater your brand authority is going to be seen by searchers.

How do you Rank? There are Numerous Options You Can Utilize to Increase Google Ranking

Most Roofing business owners make it a primary goal to reach the top ranking spots on Google. And, the good thing is that it is a feasible goal, as long as the Roofing business owner is taking the right approach in order to get there of course.

Google doesn’t focus on the quantity it prefers quality content in determining position rank for a website through search engine results. That’s why having a larger budget or the biggest marketing department, doesn’t necessarily mean a Roofing company is going to be the featured search result on Google. Google utilizes a number of factors to determine where a site ranks in its algorithm. And, this algorithm is constantly changing, so businesses have to keep up with the latest trends in SEO to ensure they’re keeping up with Google’s metrics.

To obtain the first-page status, businesses can utilize various tools in their arsenal which include

  • Organic ranking, which can be achieved through blog posts, guest blogging, and website traffic
  • The Google My Business Page, which lists the company address and contact information
  • Paid-for ads, which include landing pages and PPC (pay per click) ads on Google
  • Snippets of the website, which show up in the Google “answer box” for questions people are asking about the industry/business.

The more tools you utilize as a Roofing business, the higher your rank will crawl on Google. So, don’t simply rely on posting blogs or adding new products. Utilize paid ads, organic results, and make sure your site is as useful to your Roofing visitor as possible, to start seeing it climb the ranks in Google search results.

Is SEO A Big Waste of Time for Roofers?

Is SEO A Big Waste of Time for Roofers?

In the last decade, search engine optimization (SEO) has gone from being practically unheard of to be the foundation of digital marketing. Experts are raving about link building, keyword mastery, and domain authority, but is roofing SEO genuinely as vital for a roofing business as we have been led to believe? Let’s take a moment to consider what SEO is exactly and whether your roofing business should be investing time into it.

What is Roofing SEO?

When we have questions or issues, Google is the first place that most of us will go to search for answers. Very few, however, will look through more than the first page or two of results. SEO is the process of curating your roofing business’s web content with the intention of ranking highly on these Google search results. Ranking highly on a Google search will expose your roofing business to a wider pool of consumers, consumers that have already expressed an interest in your scope of work and are quite likely to convert to clients, so its profitable to rank highly on a number of relevant searches.

Does SEO deserve your time?

It probably goes without saying that ranking well on Google searches is beneficial for your roofing business. But you only have so much time in the day. The real question should be: does it make sense to invest time into SEO, even if it comes at the cost of working on alternative marketing strategies? Does investing a significant amount of time into SEO reap significantly more benefits than a minimal SEO strategy? This is the crux of the issue.

It’s important to understand that SEO is an incredibly complex art. Though we know a few of the factors involved, the exact formula that Google follows to rank search results remains unknown. As a result, improving your roofing business’s search ranking can be hit-or-miss. For instance, rewriting your web page’s meta-description to feature specific keywords may help improve your Google ranking. It may also do seemingly nothing. The most effective Roofing SEO strategists know that improving your search rankings can require more than a few attempts. Additionally, good SEO strategies approach search rankings through a number of perspectives. In other words, it is not enough to just rewrite your web page’s meta-description; you will also need to put time into establishing your site’s domain authority, updating your Google My Business information, and posting regularly to your site.

But perhaps the most complicated aspect of SEO comes from its impermanent nature. Google’s ranking formula is constantly evolving. Your competitor’s content will continue to develop. New competitors will emerge. Your content ranking highly on a Google search today is no promise that it will rank highly tomorrow. In order to maintain a high ranking, SEO will need to become a regular process for your roofing business.

But is the process of SEO worthwhile? Absolutely. As stated previously, the Google search results page is the ideal place to reach potential clients. It is a place where consumers that are actively searching for goods or services that you offer can discover your brand. By taking the time to rank highly on search results, you make your roofing business obvious and accessible to these consumers. So while SEO is a significant time commitment, it pays to make this investment and give the process the time and resources it needs.
